I have always loved the fiery glow of a setting sun. The continuing popularity of flame orange among wedding designers tells me that many others share this passion. Here are four electric combinations using this radiant color that are popular this year for weddings. Use these combinations for invitations, bridesmaids dresses, flower girl baskets, table runners and linens, centerpieces, and accent streamers.
1. Flame and Fuchsia: This vibrant orange and purplish-red combination is still alive and well. Flip through pages of any bridal magazine and you will see this unusual combination in many wedding accessories, wedding attire, and wedding invitations. These colors beautifully highlight bridal white and add an element of fun and daring to the day.
2. Flame and Chocolate: Vivid orange and velvet chocolate are a wonderful spring and summer combination. If you are detouring from the traditional white dress for your flower girl, consider a lovely tangerine dress with a velvet, chocolate sash. This would be a stunning way to lead the bride up the aisle. The flower girl could even scatter coral flower petals for the bride to walk across.
3. Flame and Spring Moss: To tame the fire somewhat, use a light, spring moss green. This will soften the effect and bring to mind images of warm sun and new grass. This is a wonderful combination for outdoor weddings where the accents of siena and green subtly enhance the feel you are trying to create.
4. Flame and Canary: Another "hot color" this year is canary yellow. This is a lovely summer combination especially for destination beach weddings where pastels rule the day. Imagine yellow covered tables with lovely cantaloupe linens and table runners accenting for a light and joyous feel.
Whatever combination you use, the courageous choice to step into vibrant color combinations will announce to your guests that your marriage combines both tradition and surprise. What a way to begin!
